Lessons Pricing

effective from 11th March 2008.  (website last updated 25th June 2010).

My driving lessons are priced in a competitive way, but I still have to make a living, (please remember I have to travel to you and back again or on to the next customer so that I am not actually earning my hourly rate, per hour).

You may find other Driving schools who will be cheaper, but remember you get what you pay for and I pride myself in giving good service at an affordable price. I provide a door to door service and can arrange pick up from home, work, school or college, I also give a full hour of tuition with no piggy backing or additional pupils in the car at the same time.

My basic rate is £22 per hour, this is priced on the basis of taking seperate one hour lessons.

If the customer is prepared to take lessons in larger chunks then I can reduce the rate to a less expensive level.

If you take a one and a half hour lesson I can do it for £32 and if you take a two hour lesson I can do it for £41.

If you need prep lessons in Chippenham then I will be prepared to offer a two and a half hour lesson for £50.

if  you block book and pay for 10 lessons in one go this will attract a further discount of £10 per block.

If block booking you will need to specify the duration of the lessons, in order that the invoice can be calculated correctly.

If you are interested in semi intensive courses, you will need to obtain a theory certificate before you can book a practical driving test, I can then give you a one off price quotation for the lessons, dependant on the duration of each lesson. Remember that intensive or semi intensive courses are inclined to generate a more stressful environment and extra pressure to get the job done, so they are not suitable for just any person.

If you are interested in the council sponsored Pass Plus courses you must do a minimum of 6 hrs training and they are currently priced at £80,(this is paid to the council and if a place is available the council pays the instructor on completion of the course, if a place is not available your monies are refunded), the price of these courses is fixed and the instructors have no control over this, (there is a limit to the number of places).Wiltshire Council increased the cost to you from £75 to £80 from the start  of the new year.

I have been in the driver training business for  10 yrs, so I have plenty of experience in teaching people to drive, I also have a good overall pass rate. (This can be calculated in several ways, but almost all of my pupils pass either first or second time).

If you go to most motoring schools you will be required to give at least 48hrs notice if canceling a lesson,or risk being charged for the failed appointment. All that I ask is that you tell me preferably 24hrs in advance, unless it is an illness or emergency,And in that event as soon as possible.(I don't like taking money from people for nothing, so it is in your own interests to get this right).

Please remember when selecting an instructor that all instructors who give lessons for money, or moneys worth, are required to be DSA approved and if you see extra letters after a name make sure that they are qualifications and not memberships of the driving school organisations like DIA OR MSA.
